Overall there are no characters in the book but one person in Stephen’s life. One person was his first wife, she isn't in the book but she had an impact on his life. She was the wife of stephen in the early stages of his disease. However there is a plot somewhat, the plot is basically at the beginning the book talks about gravity and how it impacts our daily life. The book tries to explain with 240 photographs, diagrams, and computer-generated images, in the book, Stephen answers basic questions that nonscientists have about the universe. For example, how did it originate, how will it end, how is it structured, and is it finite or infinite? Stephen makes these very easy to understand with all of his 240 pictures and diagrams, they help civilians understand the mysteries of the universe. The plot of the book is to take someone who knows nothing about space-time and turn them into someone with an open mind about these things. These things are done very well in the book the plot is very easy to follow from one page to the next, and you rarely find yourself lost while flipping the page. It always has good segways from page to page prompting you to flip the page. The first ever picture was on page one, A diagram about the geocentric theory (earth in the middle of the universe). This was (Figure 1.1) in the book and all figures are labeled like on page 99 (Figure 6.3) So it is always easy to find these figures and it always has subtext explaining the diagram further.
The theme of Stephen Hawking’s book is teaching nonscientists what the world is like. Teaching people what the world looks like, how did it originate, how will it end, how is it structured, and is it finite or infinite? These questions are taught by the clever use of 240 diagrams charts and images. The author, Stephen Hawking, has thought about the reader and he tries to show them the world and the universe with an open mind. The symbols of the book are teaching, no matter your age, race, gender, economic background, This is shown in It was also extraordinarily successful in the United States and other countries and was translated into more than sixty languages. It has sold millions of copies in just the year, it was the best seller for four years, proving that people really enjoyed the book and that even people who don't speak english really liked the book. This is a very obvious proving point, how many other books were top seller for four years? Through all of my research i've found no books that were top seller for multiple years, they all have been best seller for only one single year. This makes Stephen’s book the best to me, proving that the theme of the book worked it made people interested.
